Visiting

Today we visited Mapleton's Organic with friends. It was fantastic! There were animals to check out (or we they checking us out?) and a cedar hedge maze leading to the great wooden pirate ship play centre. They had homemade organic ice cream as well as a bunch of produce, yogurts, meats etc. I will definitely have to go back. The kids had so much fun!

Thanks C&C&Z for showing us!

Ahoy! It's Cast Off Time!

Okay, so it's a bad pun. Whatever. Today is the first day without the cast. I went shopping yesterday to buy a supportive pair of shoes (a lovely pair of Merrells)... and oddly enough, the only pair that not only fit, but that I could find in my size. No helpful sales people came to my rescue... you'd think they would after I hobbled in on a cast. Anyway, so far so good. I have a minor limp but I'm holding my own (and sometimes added children) weight. We'll see how my foot looks once the shoes come off tonight.

Firsts...

Addison's in her new big girl bed! I disassembled the crib yesterday and she went to bed (and stayed there!) the whole night until we heard a quiet 'tap, tap, tap' on her door around 8:30 this morning. I think the trick will be naps...

Bad Computer!

So my trusty computer has decided it's had enough... without warning (I shut it down last night and I will not come back on... judging by the Mac diy testing, it's the logic board which would be a $1000 repair...which is more than the machine is worth!). Grr. I had backed up files mid-June and I will be able to get the files/settings/email etc. off once this little trusty device gets here. It's more the inconvenience. All of my email contacts/phone numbers are on that machine and so I have no way to get a hold of my clients to let them know I'm in a pickle!

I should be back working again by Wednesday and there are some things I can complete without my other files but it stresses be out. Not to mention the $$ for the new software for the new machine. Not so cheap! Right now I'm running trial versions (good for 30 days) and by that time, I should receive a couple cheques to cover the costs.

Tthe new system is bigger, more beautiful, and so much faster that I might be able to catch up without my clients knowing.

Time will tell.
