Groovy Gals Algonquin Adventure Year II

What a fantastic way to start holidays! I traveled to Algonquin Park to have a camping weekend with some girlfriends. It's become a yearly tradition and we hope to continue for many years to come. There's a lovely hike to the Booth's rock look out, warm sunsets and even some wildlife. Being able to sit around the campfire and not have to worry about chasing children is a luxury that I've come to appreciate. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids but I also love being able to have a grown up weekend full of laughter and communing with nature.

A visit from out west...

My dad comes from a family of 11 siblings. Of those 11 siblings, there are a bajillion cousins and the 2nd cousins just keep coming! This summer we were lucky enough to get to visit at a local park with our cousins and their kids from BC. Our kids have never met before but as soon as Pokemon came up in conversation, the boys were thick as thieves for the rest of the visit. Unfortunately the pic I took of them is blurry (sigh) but a couple of the others turned out.

I modified the pic so that it didn't look quite as terrible. It's like an album for a boy band.

This is my sister's daughter. She finally lost that loose tooth!

Quin being a monkey.

My aunt playing with her niece (and Addison too, below).

This girl is going to give her brothers a run for their money.

We had a great time! And hope we see you all again soon!

Fun in the Sun

We spent the August long weekend with my parents in Kincardine. The kids are definitely not fishes but they do enjoy a beach where they can walk in as far as they feel comfortable. We also checked out the downtown sidewalk sales where Addison got her face painted as a 'fancy tiger'. No plain jane things for this chicky!

We first started with a Fruit by the Foot treat. Tyler and Addison felt the need to reinact the scene from Lady and the Tramp.
