And I've never been so busy before. My freelance work is crazy, the kids are crazy, the hubby's crazy, the dogs/guineas/bird... CRAZY! And now we're into December and I look at my calendar... You guessed it... CRAZY! I've decided not to take on any new freelance projects until the New Year as I have enough to keep me busy until then, especially when I take the 21-4th off to spend some quality time with my family. Much baking and Christmas activities will ensue. I would like to be ready and organized for this. So far we have booked checking out Christmas lights on the 14th, 3 family Christmas celebrations, a couple birthday parties, New Years eve with friends... I know that doesn't seem like a whole lot but these are the events out of the home and I know if I'm not on top of things, the house will fall apart and I'll end up cooking and cleaning at the last minute for a whole bunch of people.
What am I looking forward to most? Christmas night, after we get home from Craig's mom's celebration, curling up on the couch with an eggnog and Craig, listening to quiet and reflecting on the wonderful day we just had.
I love Christmas and the chaos, I love how the kids get so excited (we have the Playmobil advent calendars and they are so excited about them and the count down... I don't know how they are going to make it another 22 days!)
I miss Christmas eve services. Craig and I haven't really found a church family that we all feel comfortable with. The whole 'church' idea doesn't sit well with Craig and I'm looking for a more open minded community that won't pounce on us as soon as we show up, but that is also accepting of difference in the people who attend. I loved the Christmas eve services growing up. The hymns and the sense of wonderment was fantastic. If we aren't going to anyone's house on Christmas eve, I might sneak over to the church across the street and check out their service.
Off to make my to do lists (#1. Laundry - Ty is out of pants... not good).
