1st Day of Grade One

I think we often forget that he's only 5 years old. For the most part, he conducts himself with a poise, confidence and imagination of someone quite a lot older. Though there are plenty of times when my throat gets hoarse for repeating directions to him in escalating decibels, but when he's in his listening mood, he's so helpful. He plays with Quin and Addison, making them laugh, showing them what he's done in school, getting their toys...

Now he's in school full-time and I cannot believe how quite the house has become. Tyler is pretty capable of carrying on a running commentary for the whole day with only minor interjections. Without Ty's presence, the family dynamic is quite different but I am beginning to hear more stories from Quinten and can watch as he and Addison start to explore this world without the Tyler filter.

I do miss him when he's away but I'm excited to watch him develop into a man who is as imaginative, loving, conscientious, and funny as his father.

What happens when a 5 year old gets a hold of your camera...
